HEALD COLLEGE:
In 1863 Heald College was founded in San Francisco by Edward Payson Heald and for many years it was known as "Heald's Business College." However in 2001, a name change was made which introduced us to what we know now, "Heald College." Up until 2007 Heald was a non-profit institution, during 2007 a private investor group acquired Heald and turned it into a for-profit college. As time progressed, Heald became well known and more popular. There were a total of 12 campuses, several in California, one in Oregon and one in Hawaii. Unfortunately during April of 2015, Heald College has been permanently shut down due to occurring situations with Corinthian Colleges, the company that owns Heald. Although Heald is now shut down they have had plenty of great accomplishments within the last 150 years that they've been in business which is something to be very proud of, no matter the outcome.
